“VERY FINE FEAT”
Australian Comment on Clipper’s Flight THE NEXT LOGICAL STEP (Received Marcli 31, 12.52 a.m.) Melbourne, March 30. “The Americans must be congratulated on a very fine feat,” said the Chief of the Commonwealth Air Staff, Vice-Marshal Williams, referring to the arrival of the Pan-American clipper at Auckland, which created considerable interest in the Commonwealth. “We can expect the regular operation of the New Zealand route will’ follow in the same way as the Pan-Ameri-can airways of the Philippines followed the American pioneering work,”-’ he added. “An Australian line operating to Auckland is the next logical step.”
