SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW
Horse Entries Judged
(Received March 24, 12.15 a.m.) Sydney, March 23. Horses were judged at the Royal Show to-day the entries numbering 3000, or 700 more than last year. There were only three entrants in the stallion thoroughbred section, the winner of which was the former New Zealander, Deputy Ruler. The others were the minor racing performer Dignus, which was second, and the veteran Valamita, third. The competition in the Clydesdale classes was of the keenest, New Zea-land-bred horses predominating as in previous years. The award for the stallion, three years or over, went to T. Robson’s .Superb, imported from New Zealand, which was successful in other sections.
The cattle sales at the show opened auspiciously. Bidding was spirited. The highest price for .Shorthorns was 305 guineas.
