PLUNKET SOCIETY FAIR
Pleasing financial success attended the annual "bring-and-buy” afternoon conducted by the Eastbourne Plunket Society. The delightful surroundings of the Eastbourne Bowling Club’s grounds made an ideal setting for such an effort. There was an excellent attendance and business was brisk throughout the afternoon. The success of the afternoon was largely due to the efficient management by officers of the society. Stall-holders were:—Afternoon tea, Mesdames A. Birch, D. Isaacs, and helpers; ice-cream and Easter novelties, Miss M. Birch; produce, Mesdames W. Hogg, North, and helpers; sweets, Mrs. Fagan and helpers; cakes, Mrs. Jervois, Miss Isaacs, and helpers; clothes, Mesdames N. Mather, E. Bourne, and F. James. DISTRICT NURSE APPOINTED The Wellington Hospital Board last night appointed a district nurse to the eastern harbour districts. Mr. G. Y. Berry and the superintendent, Dr. A. R. Thorne, were instructed to make arrangements for her accommodation.
