Competitions at Nelson By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, March 12. The United Fire Brigades competitions continued tiiis morning. The events wore delayed owing to trouble with the hydrants. The new modern events caused the executive some perplexity, there being confusion over interpretations. A number of protests and appeals were lodged. Wilji five events completed io (he championship shield, the following is the position of the loading teams: — I’eione 301 Hokitika 301 Hastings 16j Nelson 16 Devonport 16 To-day's results were:— Four-men motor event: Hokitika, 42 4-ssec., 1; Hastings, 44 1-5, 2; Petone, 45 2-5. 3; Danevirke, 46 2-5. 4; Carterton. 47 4-5, 5; Devonport, 48, 6. Three-men disabled hose event: Petone, 41 3-ssoc., 1 : Upper Hutt. 42 2-5, 2; Tn Arolia, 44. 3: Hokitika. 45 1-5, 4; Wa ; - pul.nrau. IS 2-5. 5; Danimvirke. 19 2-5, (I.
