Important Appointment

Greymouth, February 15

The appointment of Mr. S. W. S. Strong, of Greymouth, as first engineer in charge of the Dominion Mining Scheme’s operations since amalgamation under the Labour Department is announced. Mr. Strong, who is a son of Colonel W. J. Strong, C.8.E., Dunedin, was educated at the Otago Boys' High School and the University of Otago School of Mines. He graduated in 1924. Later he was employed as patrolling geologist in the Taranaki oilfields and had charge of the gold prospecting scheme under the Unethployjnent Board on the West Const. Mr. Strong is at present seriously indisposed.
