Graham—Brown

Considerable interest in Taradale and Greenmeadows was shown when the marriage took place recently in St. Columba’s Presbyterian Church, of Lawna Wilson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Brown, Taradale, and Leslie, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Graham, Midhurst, Taranaki. The Rev. J. Cumming officiated at the wedding, which was held in the evening, and Mr. J. Rockell presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a gown of heavy ivorj' satin, the back forming a long train trimmed with the true lovers’ knot in silver. A faggoted cowl of threaded satin hung in soft folds forming a graceful neck line. The back of the bodice and long tight-lifting sleeves were trimmed with silver thread buttons, the front of the skirt was slashed, revealing a panel of tiny net frills. The veil, which was lent by the bride’s cousin, Mrs. W. D. Corbett, was held in place by a silver plaited halo. She carried a sheaf of madonna lilies and gladioli. The three bridesmaids were Misses Violet Campbell (chief) Marjorie Webb, Hastings, and Ella Graham, Midhurst, sister of the bridegroom. They were frocked alike in blue, green and apricot taffetas, respectively, made on longfitting lines, with puffed sleeves. Mr. K. D, Brown, brother of the bride, was best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs. S-. Spiro and E. Marriott. both of Wellington.

The hymn “The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden,” was snpg by the large number of guests who filled the church. During the signing of the register, Mr. E. G. Stevenson, Napier, sang a solo. “Prayer Perfect.” As the bride left tile church she was presented with a lucky horseshoe by Janet McDonald. The duties of ushers were carried out by Messrs. Angus Graham, Bernie Burgess, Ted Ellis and Roy Ewan. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Greenmeadows Hall, where nearly 200 guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Graham. Mrs. Brown wore a french blue ensemble and carried a boquet of red roses. Mrs. Graham wore a nigger brown ensemble and carried a bouquet of red autumn-tinted flowers. The company adjourned to the main ball where dancing was enjoyed. Mr. W. 11. Brown acted as M.C. When the bride left on her honeymoon. she wore a honey-gold ensemble, brown hat and fur and accessories. Mr, and Mrs. Graham will take up their residence in Wellington.
