Mrs. lan Duncan, Hobson Street, has returned from England by the Tamaroa. Mrs T. A. Eastcott, New Plymouth, is the’guest of Mrs. A. Watkins. Wellington. Mrs. Stephen Curtis, Petone, Is visiting Folding, and is staying with her daughter. Miss Gipsy Curtis. The Rev. E. J. and Mrs. Orange have returned to the Manse, Lyall Bay, after a holiday in the Wairarapa district. Miss Ann Cooper, Christchurch, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. W. Shand. Wellington.

Miss Aroha Griffin left last night for a holiday in Christchurch, where she will be the guest of Mrs. A. Stewart, Fendalton.

Miss Jewell Hobbs has returned to Christchurch from Wellington. She was the guest of Mrs. J. Moss, Island Bay.

Miss L. E. Howard Tripp, Orari, and Lady E. Richardson were among the passengers who returned from England by the Orari. Miss Molly Campbell, Lower Hutt, who has been visiting Auckland - and Thames, is now the guest of Mrs. J. B. Liggins, Lake Rotoiti. Mrs. Howard Reid, Clifton Terrace, is spending a holiday in New Plymouth, and is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. B. E. Stott.

Mrs. Percival James, Bolton Street, will stay with her mother, Lady Fenwick, Dunedin, during the absence of her husband, Canon James, in England.

■Mrs. W. Power, Dannevirke, and Mrs. J. Davidson, Palmerston North, are the guests of Mrs. W. Wellings, Hataitai, for the Wellings—Caradus wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Lancelot E. Gaunt, of Staplefleld, Sussex, will be passengers to England in the s.s. Tainui, which is due to sail this morning. Mr. Gaunt has been travelling through Australia apd Tasmania for the last six months on behalf of his firm. Miss Patricia Comerford, Sumner, Christchurch, will sail from Wellington for England by the Tainui to-day, accompanied by Miss Mary Hardie, Hawke's Bay. Mrs. M. J. Comerford, who travelled to Wellington with her daughter, is the guest of Lady Pomare. Lord and Lady Waleran, who are staying at the Midland Hotel, will leave on Monday by car for Taupo, Tauranga and Rotorua, and will sail for England by the Aorangi from Auckland on February 23. Mrs. Gibson Stott, Hobson Street, will accompany them on their trip to Taupo and Tauranga, where they intend to do some fishing.

The engagement is announced of Mr. Stanley Wainwright Morgan, wellknown New Zealand pianist and composer, and Miss Menetta Marriott, a noted soprano vocalist. Mr. Morgan is the son of the Rev. Richard Morgan, of Opotiki, Bay of Plenty, late of Methven, Canterbury. Miss Marriott belongs to Brisbane. The engagement is announced, and the marriage will take place in Deoli, Rajputana, on February 11, of Major Reginald Fenwick Craster, late Royal Garhwal Rifles, youngest son of Major R. G. Craster, Sutton, Surrey, England, and of the late Mrs. Craster, and Mary, second daughter of the late Dr. Harold McAllum and Mrs. McAllum, Inglewood, Taranaki.

Mrs. Eva M. Seward, Ealing, London, who is touring New Zealand, has arrived at Auckland after spending six weeks in the Bay of Islands. Mrs. Seward is a member of the Royal Empire Society and Overseas League, presi'dent of Ealing Townswomen’s Guild, which she formed, vice-president of the Ealing Girl Guides, and founder-mem-ber of the Electrical Association for Women (England), and member of the Associated Country Women of the World, and is deeply interested in all social welfare movements.
