EDWARD VII CROWNED BACK TO FRONT
London, February I How King Edward VII was crowned back to front was related by Mr. Lawrence Tanner, Keeper of the Muniments, in a speech at Westminster. He said that the Crown was handed over with difficulty by the Dean of Westminster to the equally aged and infirm Archbishop of York. It was feared for a terrible moment that the Archbishop of York might drop it. lor lhe Crown shook above he King's head. However, the Archbishop of York got it on, though back to front, but this did not matter, because everyone was thankful that the Crown was actually on.
