Midland, and Scottish express went to London from Glasgow in 5 hours 4-1 minutes, at an average speed of 70 miles per hour. The highest speed was 95 miles per hour, despite the fact that the train had to haul an- extra 30 tons. On the combined journey of 800 miles the train averaged 69 miles pethour.
