Christchurch, November 18. Entries were of normal size to-day at Addington and there was a S o °d demand for all classes of stock. Fat lambs: A small entry and a keen sale, values ranging round Sid. to Olid, per IK Store sheep: A very small entry and a strong demand for ewes and lambs and wethers. 'The former made to 21/-, all counted, and wethers to 22/-. Fat sheep: About 4060 were penned, and though somewhat irregular, recent values held. Best shorn heavy wethers made 26/- to 30/-, prime medium-weight 22/6 to 24/6, others down to 20/-; best ewes 21/- to 25/-, prime medium-weight 18/6 to 20/6, others down to 16/-. Fat cattle: 450 penned. There was an advance in values for all prime mediumweight cattle of about 10/- a head, but heavyweight steers sold very draggingly. Best beef made from 33/- to 35/- a 1001 b., good 29/- to 32/-, ordinary and inferior down to 25/-. Best steers made from £l2 to £l5/12/6, prime medium-weights £lO 10/- to £l2/10/-, others down to £9/5/-; best heifers £9 to £l2, good £7 to £8 15/-, others down to £6/5/-: show cows £l4/2/6, good £B/10/- to £ll/10/-, medium £6 to £B. Fat pigs: Recent values were maintained. Porkers made 32/6 to 48/6; average per lb. sjd. to Gjd. Baconers, 54/- to £4/4/6; average per lb sJil. to 6:}d. Burnside Sale By Telegrapn—Press Association Dunedin, November 18. Both beef and mutton eased at the Burnside stock sale to-day. The yarding of fat cattle totalled 330. Extra prime heavy bullocks made to £l5/17/6, prime £.12 to £l3/10/-, medium £9/15/- to £ll 10/-, light £B/10/- to £9/10/-; extra prime cows and heifers to £9/17/6, prime £6/15/- to £B, others £5 to £6/10/-. A large yarding of stores met a keen demand, with prices firm. Best three and four-year bullocks made £7/14/- to £9 11/-; two to two and a half-year btillocksj £6 to £7/12/-; two-year, £5/2/- to £5/8/-. Best young cows, close to profit, met a keen demand in the dairy section. The entry of fat sheep numbered 1630 and prices were easier in the latter part of the sale. Extra prime woolly wethers made £l/18/-, prime woolly £l/13/- to £l/15/-, medium woolly £l/10/- to £1 12/6; extra prime shorn wethers to £1 9/3, prime shorn £l/5/- to £l/6/6, medium and light shorn £l/2/6 to £l/4/-; extra prime woolly ewes realised to £1 16/9, prime woolly £l/12/- to £l/14/-, medium and light woolly £l/6/- to £1 10/-; extra prime shorn ewes to £l/6/9; prime shorn £l/2/6 to £l/4/6, medium and light down to 19/-. The supply of fat lambs was in excess of butchers’ requirements and values were easier. Extra prime lambs made to £l/9/-, prime £l/4/- to £l/6/-, medium £l/2/- to £l/3/6, light 17/- to 21/-. Fat pigs, of which there were 226, were also easier. Baconers made from £3 to £4/5/- and porkers from £2 to £3. A small entry of store pigs met a keen demand. Market values generally were well maintained iu the fat cattle section at to--day s sale at Stortford Lodge, the majority of the entries meeting the market at prices which showed no change on late rates. Best bullocks made to £l2/2/6; heifers, to £9/13/6; cows, to £B/15/-. Store cattle, totalling 650, sold at par to easier than last week, an increased entry being partly responsible. , Fat sheep were weaker, and ewes fell back by up to 2/6 a head. Wethers, which were in shorter supply, were less affected. The broken weather conditions kept the store sheep market firm generally at late rates, with useful two and fourtooth wethers off shears making good sales. 1' at cattle: Bullocks, medium to prime, £lO to £l2/2/6; cows, medium to prime, £7 to £B/15/-; others, from £4/15/-; heifers, medium to prime, £8 to £9/13/6; others, from £6/13/6. Store cattle: Yearling to two-year steers, to £7; threc-year, to £9 ; cows, to £6/13/6; cows with calves at foot, to £B/2/6; weaner, to two-year heifers, to £5/4/-. Fat sheep: Ewes, woolly, medium to prime, 20/- to 22/6; ewes, shorn, medium to prime, 17/6 to 18/6; wethers, to 22/6. Store sheep: Two-tooth wethers, shorn, to 22/6; four-tooth, to 24/6; ewes with lambs, all counted, to 16/7.
