TOUR OF GERMANY
London Philharmonic Orchestra HITLER AT CONCERT (British Official Wireless.) (Received November 16, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, November 14. The first concert of the German tour of Sir Thomas Beecham and the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Berlin last night, coincided with the close of a short but successful'visit to London of the Dresden State Opera Orchestra, which has provided one of the most interesting features of the present season. An invitation to visit Germany was extended to Sir Thomas Beecham at the suggestion of the German Ambassador, Herr von Ribbentrop. At last, night’s Berlin concert Herr Hitler and other members of the Government were among the distinguished audience, which included representatives of the official, diplomatic, social, and musical circles of Berlin. During the interval the British Ambassador, Sir Eric Phipps, and Lady Phipps visited Herr Hitler’s box. The British orchestra will also play in Dresden. Leipzig, Munich, Stuttgart, Ludwigschafen, Frankfort, and Cologne.
