FIGHTING REPORTED
Chinese Attacked JAPANESE PLANES ACTIVE (Received November 17, 1.55 a.m.) Pelting, November 16. Fighting is reported to have broken out in the province of Suiyan, where 3000 Chahai cavalry and infantry and artillery attacked Chinese entrenched north-east of Taolin. Eight Japanese planes dropped bombs, some allegedly containing gas, on the Chinese, who repulsed six assaults. The attackers withdrew in a snowstorm.
