Federal Minister Gives Denial CASE OF MRS. FREER By Telegraph—Fresg Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, November 16. The report that he intended to re ; sign his portfolio is categorically denied by Mr. T. Paterson, who declared that such a development had never been thought of. “The ease of Mrs. Freer is being given prominence out of all proportion to its importance,” lie added. “It is being elaborated in some quarters into a matter of Empire importance.” The ‘'Daily Telegraph’s" Melbourne correspondent says that, according to Lieutenant Dewar, Mrs. Freer was excluded by tlie Commonwealth Government “because of personal representations by private persons in Australia.” Lieutenant Dewar added that he knew a letter had been sent to a relative of his in Australia by an officer in India, WITH EMPHASIS Minister Repeats Previous Decision (Received November 17, 12.30 a.m.) Sydney, November 16. The Minister of the Interior, Mr. T. Paterson, at Canberra to-day repeated with emphasis that Cabinet was determined to exclude Mrs. Freer should she again attempt to enter Australia.
