Passengers on the Marania which arrived at Dunedin on Tuesday were favoured with an unusually fine view of Milford Sound when the vessel called there on its way to Bluff, officers stating that they had never experienced more favourable conditions. The visit was made just at sunrise, and the effect of the bright rays moving across the snowclad mountain peaks was an impressive one. ”Jt was a sight which will live in the memory of all who saw it.” stated Mr. L. Deans Ritchie, who was a passenger. 'The scone was very remarkable, and, indeed, was almost awe-inspiring in its majesty."
