January 19: New Zealand championships, Christchurch. January 28: Gold and Silver Medal, Timaru. January 29: West Coast tournament, Greymouth. February 1: South Auckland championships, Hamilton. February 8: Southland Croquet Association tournament, Gore. February 8: South Taranaki tournament, Hawera. February 9: Wellington Croquet Association tournament, Hutt and Petone. February 18: Otago croquet championships, Dunedin. February 22: Wanganui croquet tournament, Wanganui. February 28: Southern Hawke's Bay tournament, Dannevirke. Owing to the heavy rain which commenced on Saturday afternoon and continued until Tuesday afternoon, all interclub matches had to be postponed on account of the sodden state of ..the lawns. These will be played to-day, weather permitting. . The following is the draw for next week’s matches: — A grade: Wellington 2 v. Waimarie 2, Seatoun v. Kelburn 1, Hataitai v. Kelburn 2, Wellington 1 v. Ngaroma, Woburn v. Karori, Hutt v. Island Bay, Waimarie v. Eastbourne, Hataitai 2 v. Kelburn 3. Intermediate: Kelburn 1 v. Kelburn 2, Mount Victoria v. Ngaroma, Woburn v. Kelburn 3, Hutt v. Wellington, Karbri v. Central, Hataitai v. Ngaio, Eastbourne v. Waimarie. B grade: Waimarie v. Kelburn, Karori v. Ngaroma, Hataitai v. Wellington, Mount Victoria v. Island Bay. Half Team Matches. Thq results of the half-team matches played last Friday are as follows:— Ngaio v. Ngaroma: Mesdames Gosden and Furness defeated Mrs. Galvin and partner, 26-20. Hutt v. Lyall Bay: Misses McKenzie and Wilkins lost to Mesdames Liddell and Tasker, 12-26. Seatoun 2 v. Central: Mesdames Snelling and Neilson lost to Mesdames Warner and Ridley, 11-26. Kelburn v. Woburn: Mesdames Lindsay and Esam defeated Woburn, 26-21. Central v. Island Bay: Mesdames Mayes and Annear defeated Mesdames Small and Coe, 26-14. Seatoun 1 v. Hataitai: Mesdames McGirr and Woodley lost to Mrs. Bradley and Miss Boyce, 20-26. The half-team draw for to-morrow morning is as follows: — k Central 2 v. Hataitai 1; Woburn 2 v. Seatoun 1, Woburn 1 v. Central 1, Kelburn v. Lyall Bay, Mount Victoria v. Waimarie, Ngaio v. St. Augustine, Hutt v. Ngaroma, Island Bay v. Seatoun 2. Pollock Stars. The second round for the Pollock Stars was played on Friday last, when the holders, Kelburn club (Mesdames Gardner and O’Donnell) met the Mt. Victoria players, Mrs. Bradley and Miss Boyce. A cold wind somewhat prolonged the game, which was a very close one. At' one time it looked as if the challengers would be victorious, but unfortunately for them Miss Boyce in attempting to peel her partner through the rover hoop, failed to get position for her own ball. The Kelburn players then obtained control of the game and finished, the score being 26-23 in favour of Kelburn. Mrs. Boocock (Wellington) was the referee. The next on the list of challengers is the Wpbnrn club. Mrs. Henderson, Wellington, will act as referee. McKenzie Cups. The second round for the McKenzie Cups was played last Friday at Karori, when the holders, Mesdames W. H. Smith and Toms, proved too good for the challengers, Mesdames Stoupe and Flux, Waimarie, the game ending 26-15 in favour of Karori. The next club to challenge will be Kelburn. The match will probably be played on Friday. King Brooches. The second round for the King Brooches was played last week, when Woburn club challenged the holders, Mesdamej Wright and Corbett (Waimarie), This was a very interesting game throughout. Woburn had a considerable lead at one stage, but Mrs. August, in attempting to peel her partner's ball through the rover hoop, overran with her own ball, which allowed the opponents to get control of the game, the final score being 26-23 in favour of Waimarie. Mesdames August and Suteliff represented the Woburn club. Wellington Club. The Wellington club have been very busy with handicap matches, and both sections are well advanced. The following are the results to date:—Mrs. Manton defeated Mrs. Hogan. 26-25; Mrs. Henderson defeated Mrs. Caldow, 26-12; Mrs. Shelly defeated Mrs. Deare, 26-21; Mrs. Priddle defeated Mrs. Ross, 26-16; Mrs. Talbot defeated Mrs. Robbins, 2617: Mrs. King defeated Mrs. Walsh, 26-16; Mrs. Wise defeated Mrs. Crosby, 26-24; Mrs. Brown defeated Mrs. Alexander, 26-25; Mrs. Boocock defeated Mrs. Billing, 26-5; Mrs. F. M. Ramsay defeated Miss Bates, 26-3; Mrs. Bryden defeated Mrs. A. A. Ramsay, 26-13 ; Mrs. Collins defeated Mrs. Baillie, 26-8. Personals. Mrs. W. E. Caldow (Wellington) and Miss McKenzie (Hataitai) are visiting tlje Wairarapa to take part in the tournament. Mrs. Taylor (Waimarie) is visiting Christchurch. Mrs. Brice (Timaru) is now living in Wellington and has joined Mt. Victoria. Mrs, Spelman (Napier) is now residing in Wellington, Mrs. K. Miller (Rangafira club, Dannevirke) is on a visit to Wellington.. Mrs. Whitelaw (late of Woodville) is now residing in Wellington, and has joined up with Mt.. Victoria.
