GOLF COMPETITIONS

Closing Day at Titalii The Titnhi chib will close the 1936 winter season with a mixed foursome for t.he Meade Cup on Sundiiy. Members of other clubs are invited to take part. On Saturday afternoon a stroke competition will be played. A medal round on Saturday last was won by R. G. Mexted. with 79-14-65. D. Sloane came next, 80-12-6 S. Whakatiki Club For the closing day at Whakatiki last Saturday there was a full muster of members. The mixed foursome was won by Miss Stuart and D. McMcArthur. The stroke competition resulted, in a tie between Waterhouse and D. Oliver. The putting competition for women was won by Mis a Stuart, Mrs. Wilkie being run-ner-up. Shran won the men’s putting competition, Robinson being runner-up. Afternoon tea followed, after which Mr. Wilkie, the president, presided, at an enjoyable gathering, when the prizes were presented by Mr. E. Marry at. Manor Park Ladies* Club The Manor Park Ladies’ Golf Club will play a fourball best-ball bogey competition on Saturday, players arranging their own partners. The fourball and ringer competitions will be extended until November 15. Wellington Ladies’ Club The finals of the Wellington ladies’ club’s senior and junior championships will be played this afternoon, commencing at 1.30 o’clock. Iu the senior championship, Mns, Treadwell will meet Mijs S Collins, and in the junior, Miss Bell will meet Miss Joyce Nathan.
