PATIENCE NEEDED

TT is easily understandable after acquiring a knowledge of the trials and tribulations that confront a motion picture director, why these gentlemen are at times inclined to become tempermental. A demonstration of this was witnessed during the shooting of the Columbia National Studios production, “Rangle River” at “Woodstock” recently, when the director, .Clarence Badger, surrounded by cameras and sound recording instruments, after having rehearsed a scene in which Victor Jory and Margaret Dare appear at least half a dozen times, finally secured the “all perfect” signal from the assembled experts.

No sooner had the command “Quiet Please” been given, the cameras and recording circuits started functioning, Victor Jory galloping and Margaret Dare waiting expectantly, than a lone air force ’plane of the Bristol type zoomed from nowhere at full throttle, and the sensitive microphone discarded the galloping hoofs sound for the more modern roar of ,the aircraft engine.

All the work on the production had to cease while the director and party gazed at thq sky and muttered something about the peace of the country in spring.
