SHORT-WAVE RADIO
New Zealand to Have Station The intention of the Government to establish a short-wave radio station to transmit overseas suitable programmes from New Zealand was mentioned by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, in an interview yesterday. Mr. Savage was unable to say when the service would be inaugurated as there was so much yet to do in connection with radio policy. Mr. Savage also said that at present it was proposed to use the new pO-kilo-watt station at Titahi Bay for Parliamentary broadcasts. However, he would not say that the other stations would not be used occasionally for the same purpose, though the big station appeared to provide the best method for covering the whole Dominion.
