DATES ARRANGED

New Education Fellowship Conference A decision to hold a session of the New Education Fellowship Conference in the four.main centres was reached at a meeting on Tuesday night of the national committee of the New Zealand session of the New Education Fellowship Conference. Professor T. A Hunter presided. World figures in the sphere of edu-. cation are to visit New Zealand from July 19 to July 29 next year, and it was disclosed there is. every prospect of at least 12 speakers accepting the invitation. Not all, however, will be able to attend each local session, but it is hoped more than half of them will. The movement has already received the approval of the Minister’ of Education (Hon. P. Fraser), who has evinced considerable interest in the proposal. It is now proposed to proceed with the formation of local committees in the four centres. These committees will direct the arrangements in their own particular areas, and it is hoped to interest not only educationists but local bodies such as city councils, chambers of commerce and members of the business community. The plan envisaged by the national committee contemplates the attendance at each local session of several hundreds of teachers for perhaps a week, and the conference undoubtedly promises to be the most important meeting of educationists ever held in New Zealand.
