Hall Outpoints Rayner Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, September 16. E. Hall (9.8), ex-lightweight champion of Australia, secured a points victory over Clarrie Rayner (9.5), ex-featherweight ehampion of New Zealand, in a bout which lasted the full 15 rounds at Wanganui to-night. A packed house greeted ’-he referee’s decision with mixed feelings. Die bout was not exceptionally sparkling, the boxers giving only occasional glimpses of colour in the last four rounds. Ha l appeared to have more in reserve than his opponent did, and was the steadier fighter. In a professional preliminary B. Downs (10.5), Wanganui, was awarded a technical knockout over J. Wilson (10 5 , Marton, who was outclassed after the bout had gone three of the eight rounds.
Amateur bouts resulted ns follow?. L. Christensen (9.12), Taranaki, beat A. O’Neil (10.3), Wanganui; T. Whntnoiigh (9.0), Wanganui, beat N. Norris (9.0), Manawatu: Toome, Manawatu, beat Beatson, Wanganui.
