Armaments Appropriations
“NECESSITIES OF WORLD SITUATION” Bv Telegraph—Presr Assn.—Copyright. (Received September 13. 7 p.m.) Rome, September 12. Cabinet has decided to increase the basic salaries of State employees by 8 per cent. Extraordinary appropriations are announced for the army, navy and air force, "in order to raise military preparations to the necessities of the international situation within a limited period." Italy’s policy of self-sufficiency .in raw materials is being vigorously continued, Special measures are being taken to raise the birth-rate, ineluding prizes for twins.
