Wellington Regiment MEDALS AND TROPHIES DISTRIBUTED Military pomp aud pageantry wcie in evidence last night at the Drill Hall in Buckle Street, when the Ist Battalion ot the Wellington Regiment celebrated visitors’ night, by a parade and distribution o£ medals and trophies. The pipe band, in kilts and sporrans, the military band in scarlet, and khakielad rank and file, stood stiffly to attention while the officer commanding Major E. M. Staee, E.D., accompanied by the second in command, Captain A. LGeorge, and the adjutant, Captain L». W. Andrew, V.C., N.Z.S.C., inspected the parade. The hall rang with the martial music, 'shouted orders, tramp of feet, and the drumming of heavy ram on the roof. After the inspection Major St ace presented the trophies from a table glittering with rows of shining shell-cases, vases, medals and shields. Later the visitors were provided with supper.
