MONDAY’S WRESTLING
Booking for any wrestling ma ten this season has not been heavier than for the Empire title bout which is to take place at the Wellington Town Hall on Monday night between Earl McCready (Canada), the present holder of the championship, and “Lofty” Blomfield (New Zealand), the challenger. In addition to being the first match between Blomfield and McCready this season, the match appeals to the public because it is. telt that Blomfield has a better chance now of becoming the first man to defeat Me* Cready in New Zealand than at any previous stage of his career. Blomfield was able to give McCready some exceedingly close calls last year, and the improvement he has shown gives reason tor thinking that he may be capable of success this time. If he does succeed, however, it will not be without a great battie, as McCready’s outstanding prowess has been demonstrated time and again. There will be amateur preliminaries from 8 o’clock.
