Wellington June Figures
Shipping and cargo statistics for Wellington reported to the harbour board last night showed an increase for June compared with June last year. The net tonnage of trading vessels arriving in June was 320,559 tons, as against 294,241 tons, an increase of 26,318 tons. Cargo handled increased from 125.885 tons to 159.439 tons, or by 33,554 tons. Principal increases were in imports of general cargo and bulk oil. Exports of butter, cheese and frozen meat show a seasonal decrease.
