PROFIT IN ART UNIONS
Four-guinea Picture Yields £lOl9 There appears to be a great deal of profit In raffling works of art under the Gaming Act. The Minister of Internal Affairs. Hon. W. E. Parry, men tinned yesterday that in a recent South Island art union, a picture valued at four guineas obtained a clear profit of £lOl9. “The art. union, which was for the local returned soldiers and improvements to a seaside beach, was conducted by some enterprising salesmen,” ♦be Minister explained.
