MONDAY’S WRESTLING

Much interest is centred in the wrestling bout to be staged at the Wellington Town Hall oh Monday night, when Earl McCready and “Lofty Blomfield will enter the ring for their Empire title challenge bout. The title is nt present held by McCready, who established indisputable claims to it last year, and Ims since substantiated them in his matches against Jack Forsgren. as well as against wrestlers from outside the Empire. The matches between BlomHeld and McCready last season provided some of the highlights of the year, and ever since the present season started enthusiasts have been anxious to see them brought together ngain. Blomfield s form this year Ims been such that he must, be considered to have excellent chances of beatin" his rival. He has proved to be too good for Forsgren. who provided McCready with stout opposition at Wellington and Dunedin. He has proved to be one of the greatest crowd-pleasers that wrestling' Ims produced, and his name has only to appear on the programme for a big'house to be assued. He ran McCready very close in last season’s matches, and his improvement has been so consistent that many of bis supporters share the confidence with which he is approaching Monday’s engagement. There will be amateur preliminaries from 8 o clock.
