BOXER KNOCKED OUT
-y Blow to Solar Plexus By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, July 21. In a scheduled ten-round professional welterweight boxing contest to-night, W. Carey, 10st<. 51b. (Canterbury) knocked out B. Morrighan, lost. 71b. (Marlborough) in the tenth round. Carey was the more aggressive boxer and was ahead on points when Morrighan was felled with a right hook to the solar plexus. The crowd protested noisily, evidently under the impression that the blow was low.
