Award of £958 to Carpenter

Leonard Philip Parker Double, carpenter, Petone, who was severely injured when a scaffold on which he was working at Petone collapsed, was awarded £958 damages and costs against his former employer, August Victor Swanson, contractor, by Mr. Justice Johnston at the Supreme Court at Wellington yesterday. Mr. P. J. O’Regan represented Double. Mr. H. F. O'Leary, K.C., with him Mr. E. D. Blundell, appeared for Swanson. The claim was before the court recently, when it was adjourned to enable further evidence to be called.
