Christchurch City Land LEASE TO SHILLINGS By Telegraph—'Press Association. Christchurch, July 21. An important sale of city real estate was completed tq-day, when a relatively small frontage in the heart of the city on Colombo Street, between Hereford and Cashel Streets, changed hands. The land has been selected as part of the site for the Christchurch premises of Shillings, Limited, the re-cently-formed drapery chain store concern. The section sold is occupied by F. H. Steel, Ltd., butchers. The buyer was Mr. T. .N. Gibbs, for a company he is promoting to be known as First City Estates, Ltd., which has arranged a lease to Shillings, Limited. This site, with neighbouring land also leased by Shillings. Limited, will be covered by a new concrete and steel building of two stories which ultimately may rise to four stories. The price paid was between £7OO and £BOO a foot.
