PETONE LABOUR BALL
Attendance a Record
The Labour Hall, Petone, was a gayscene of festivity on the occasion of the ninth annual ball of the Petone branch of the Labour Party. There was a record attendance.
A pleasing interlude was tap-dancing by little Miss Betty Paynter and Master R. Wilkins, who were heartily recalled.
The women’s committee, under the supervision of ‘Mrs. James Cumming, provided an excellent supper.
The guests of honour were the Hon. W. Nash and Mrs. Nash, the latter wearing black ciel matalasse gown with small diamond clasp, Mr. and Mrs. W. Thompson (black crepe <le chine), and Mr. Bassett. Also present were Mr. Scholefield, Mayor of Petone, and Mr. Pike, of Te M hiti, Masterton. Aiessrs. AV. G. Lotlder and Cr. G. London were appointed Petone Borough Council representatives on the Taita Cemetery Board by the council on Aionday evening. Their appointment is for seven years.
