DANCE AT MIRAMAR

The third annual dance of the Miramar Methodist Tennis Club, held in the Rio Grande Cabaret, Miramar, proved a great success and was attended by a large number of friends and members. The 'dancing was chiefly of the old-time variety and was immensely popular. Cards were played by the non-dancers. Mr. Gordon Johnson made an efficient M.C., and an excellent orchestra provided the music. The Rev. J. S. 'Willoughby welcomed the guests and made brief reference to the trophies which are competed for every year. The winners of the card tourneys were:—Bridge. Mrs. E. Withers and Mr. Oliver; “500”, Mrs. M. Curtis and Mr. Townson. The “lucky spot” waltz was won by Mrs. Melville and Mr. Kelly, and the monte carlo by Miss F. Phillips and Mr. T. Hinde. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the National Anthem brought a happy evening to a close.
