METHODIST MISSION

Birthday of Women’s Auxiliary

There was a good attendance of members and friends at the Wesley Church parlour, Taranaki Street, to celebrate the seventh birthday of the Wellington central branch of the Methodist Women’s Missionary Auxiliary recently. Owing to the absence through illness of the president Mrs. Pacey, the meeting was presided over by Mrs. Raine, vice-president. Mrs. O. E. Burton gave an address, followed by elocutionary items by Mi*s. Castle, vocal solos by Miss Anie Bennie, and violin solos by Miss Olga Burton. The accompanists were Mrs. Gandcll and Miss Burton. A birthday cake, donated by Mrs. Paecy, was cut by Mrs. T. O. Stokes and handed round during afternoon tea, the remainder being sold. A “silver trail” took the place of the usual collection. The pronouncement of the Benediction brought the afternoon to a close.
