Boxing Opponent’s Claim For Foul Disallowed

Forty-eight hours after making the featherweight limit for a title bout which did not eventuate, (.’Jarrie’Rayner (Blenheim) to-night met Alt’ Reekie (Australia) in a lightweight contest. The match, scheduled for 15 rounds, ended unsatisfactorily. In the third round Reekie claimed a foul. The referee, Mr. F. O’Neill, Greymouth, ordered him to continue and when he refused awarded Rayner the decision. A doctor who examined Reekie said he discovered no evidence of a foul.
