Omarere," a two-year-old winner at Rosehill ou Saturday, w Mr. R. J. Murphy's bay colt by Iliad from Gesture. Me is ‘trained by G. Bred as lie L there is no reason why Omarere should not be top class. His dam Gesture was our leading two-year-old and by Chiet Ruler from Nottava, by Sollerino from Stepka, by St'. The remit being brought up before the conference by the Wellington district clubs asking that the selection of starters be the duty ol <!>■ trict committees is a step toward adoption of what obtains in England, where the appointments do not rest witn the various clubs.
