LOCKE BEATS FERRIER

Exhibition Golf Match

London, June 7.

A. D’A. (“Bobby”) Locke, the amateur and open golf champion of South Africa, defeated Jim Ferrier (New South Wales) in an exhibition round on the Royal Automobile Club course at Epsom. Locke won by 73 to 76, under medal conditions, and 2 up and 1 to play, under match-play conditions. Heavy rain prevented good scoring, although both played well against a standard scratch score of 75. Locke is only 18 years old.
