VACUUM-PACKED PRODUCTS

Sir T. Wilford’s Speech (Received May 30. 1.15 a.m.) London, May 29. Sir Thomas Wilford, presiding at the first annual meeting of Vacuum Packed Products, Ltd., referred to the Government taking over on ’ August 1 the whole of the butter and cheese produced in New Zealand. As the company had consistentlj- obtained premiums ot 12/a cwt. for blitter, and 20/- lor cheese vacuum-packed, it would surely interest the Government when considering the price obtainable in Britain. It was reasonable to suppose that in the event of the Government taking the firm as one of its selling agents a regular and plentiful supply of produce would be obtainable. Sir Thomas Wilford is going to New Zealand in June in the company’s interests.
