RUGBY RETIREMENT
Medical Advice to C. J. Oliver By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, May 29. C. J. Oliver, vice-captain of- the 1935 All Blacks, has been forced definitely to retire from Rugby owing to a groin injury received on the tour which has recurred at intervals. He has been training in the hope of resuming play, but. now must act on medical advice and cease. So ends a remarkable football career which started when Oliver won liis Canterbury cap as a youth of 19 in 1924.
