COCKTAILS AT FIVE
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grcar Entertain Alasses of lovely autumn Howers were artistically used to decorate the comfortable lounge of the Midland Hotel yesterday, when, at 5 o'clock, a number of friends of Air. and Airs. Frank Great- called there Io spend a delightful hour or so as their guests.
Blue and greenish tinted hydrangeas mingled with foliage stood in big bowls in several corners, and chrysanthemums in tawny tones filled many vases. Bolder splashes of orange and gold were lent bv Iceland poppies, which decorated all the small tables, each of which bore an appetising array of little savouries and sandwiches. Cocktails were banded round by efficient waiters.
