(By

The annual meeting of the Carterton Racing Club will be held on the Clareville track to-day. Fair fields are engaged, and in the two principal races, the County Cup and the Bunny Memorial, the class of the runners assures good contests. The course at Clareville is a turning one. and has :i short straight, so that it favours smart horses. The going is in first class order, and betting will be on the single pool system. A convenient train service will be available for patrons, and the Clareville flag station adjoins the course. J The card is as follows:— 11.45— MAIDEN PLATE, of £OO. Six furlongs.
