LIVE STOCK MARKET

Feilding Sale Dominion Special Service. Feilding, May 22. A much better quality offering caused a distinct rise in tbe price of fat cattle at the stock sale to-day. Some very heavy prime bullocks went to 30/- per 1001 b., while prime heifers did not share in this advance owing to lack of quality. There was a big yarding of store cows, chiefly boners, which sold at good prices. Dairy stock in the store pens sold at fairly good prices, though the demaud is for quality stock only. Store cattle of heavy breeds were rather easier, with some lines passed. The dairy cattle market remains good, with a firm toue about it, especially for cows and heifers close to calving dates. Fat ewes were dowu about 1/- a head, because outside butchers were uot operating. Fat lambs were down several shillings, the reason being that the offering was largely composed of merely store condition lambs. Fat wethers were firm for choice lines. In the store sheep section there is still a demand for good ewes iu lamb.
