Gisborne Cattle Fair Dominion Special Service. Gisborne, May 21. Following last week's cattle fair entry of 8500 head, a second sale was necessary to cope with the offerings. This brought nn entry of 1250 head. Fewer outside buyers were present, but an excellent sale resulted, prices being fully maintained and a total clearance was made. Eighteen to 20-month steers made from £5 to £6/8/-: ditto, heifers, £4 to £•> 15/-, the latter pi'iee being for extra quality. Breeding icows. good, made £4/18/- to £5/6/-; medium, £3/6/-; grown heifers. £4/10/- to £5/11/-; empty cows, £4/14/-, £4/18/- and £3/6/-; •rowii heifers, £4/10/-£o £5/11/-; empty cows. £4/14/- to £4/18/-; weaner steers, £4/3/- to £5; bullocks, £7/6/- to 1) 17/6/. good in-calf Jersey heifers, £4/8/to £4/14/-. Eketahuna Sale Eketahuna, May 21. A small entry of sheep and cattle was offered to a large attendance of buyers at the weekly Eketahuna sale to-day, report Dalgety and Co.. Ltd. Bidding was spirited and prices were well maintained, a total clearance being effected as follows: 2-tootli ewes, r.w. Romney ram, . "4/-; good-conditioned b.f. lambs, 20/10; wenner Jersey heifers. £2/14/-; empty 2-year Jersey heifers, £3/3/-.
