CHILDREN’S PARTY

Lower Hutt Nursery

A very jolly and well-attended children's party, organised by the Lower Hutt branch of the Residential Nursery, was held in the U.S.A, rooms on Wednesday afternoon. The children entered into the various games, dancing, and competitions with zest, Mrs. Charlesworth supervising the programme. A home-made afternoon tea was provided by the comTlie children themselves contributed an excellent programme of recitations, which was as follows:—June Forbes, "When Burglars Came in Our House'’; Elaine Dorward, "Don’t”; June Card, "Windy Nights”; Colleen Gamble, "The Duckling's Story”; Rita Charlesworth. "The Tin”; Mary Corlett. "The 'Wind and the Leaves.” Mrs. W. Burgess played for the games and dances, and prizes ■w?re given for the winners of the competitions. The committee comprised Mesdames W. Nash. Burgess. Campbell, Beasley. Ilooson, Flux. Wright. Corlett, J. August. Forbes. Nielson. Charlesworth. McArthur, Knox, Chartres, Miss Wilkins.
