The latest number of the “Stockholm Police Journal” contains a letter from Miss Maria Olofsson thanking the police corps for their care, kindness and gifts. In 1914 Maria’s father was killed by a motor-car while on duty. On the day of his funeral Maria was born. The police corps of his district decided to take over the entire care of the daughter of their dead comrade, and to defray the cost of her keep and education. - , ,1 Four years later Maria’s mother died, but the girl was well taken care of. Now she is of age and able to support herself.
