MELROSE BIBLE SOCIETY

The annual meeting of the Melrose branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held at the home of the president, Mrs. A. F. Tonks. There was an excellent attendance. Mrs. Brooker, secretary, jrave a most encouraging account of the work done- during the year. The following officers were elected : — President, Mrs. A. F. Tonks; secretary, Mrs. Brooker; collectors, Mesdames Brooker, Harris, Zantuck and Hebbend. Mrs. Porter congratulated the branch upon the work of last year, and spoke on the life and work of William Tyndale. She stated that the British and Foreign Bible Society now circulated the Scriptures in 700 languages The president thanked all the workers and gave two delightful and appropriate recitations, which were much appreciated. She also served afternoon tea, being warmly thanked for her hospitality.
