Brighter Radio Programmes
Sir,- I entirely agree with “Cornstalk" in tin: matter of radio programmes. For the past two or three days the national stations have been rebroadcasting three hours of Parliamentary debates, undoubtedly very enlightening, and so forth, but hardly a soothing balm for Jlr. Average Jinn after his day’s work. Now while 2YA is spoon-feeding us with polities, the auxiliary, 2YC, is spoon-feeding us with elocutionary tests. 1 would just like to know, sir, whether the percentage of people who enjoy this sort of thing is large enough to justify this formidable array of intellectual nourishment. There is just another little point I should like to raise, namely, this; Can’t the dance-music lovers have their hour of enjoyment earlier in the evening sometimes, and let tlie people who “simply adore good music” show the quality of their adoration by waiting up till 10 o'clock~an(l still "adore” with the same vim?—l am, etc.. MOANING JEFF. Wellington. May 21.
