Sir, — The interest big series of articles b.v Mr. G. A. Kennedy on Wellington .music seems (■> me to have another value, besides that of intrinsic excellence. For they serve to remind us of how greatly music is ignored in the distribution of pulilie honours. A number of years ago a decoration was given t<> a venerable musician, who is sometimes called the father of music in New Zealand, but much disappointment was expressed at the time that it was not a knighthood, There is yet: lime for Mr. Savage to repair ibis failure in (he next birthday gazette.—l am. etc..
