Arbitration Court After sittitig in a number of provincial centres during the past week, the Court of Arbitration has returned l ’o Wellington. Sittings will begin tomorrow, the first case set down being that of Weaver versus the Wellington City Corporation. The sittings of the court will continue until Wednesday, May 27, and on that, evening Mr. Justice Page and his associates will leave for Dunedin, where sittings will begin on May 29. Council Restores Cuts. When considering the departmental estimates recently, the Wellington City Council decided to restore half tlie economy cuts (in all, £1650). Subseafter the staff committee han examined the position, and in view ot tlie fact that certain officers’ salaries had been restored, it was decided that the cuts be fully restored. This will take effect as from July 1.

Cyclist Injured. Colliding with a motor-ear while riding a bicycle at the corner of Tory Street and Lome Street, shortly after midday yesterday. Jack Hampton, aged 21, of' 25 Salek Street, Kilbirnie, suffered injuries to his abdomen, abrasions and shock. He was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance, and his condition, although serious, was stated last night to have -improved.

Fell Down Lift-well. ■While working at Die new Bunny Street railway station yesterday afternoon, Mr. D. Gibson, an electrician, fell down n lift-well, a distance of about three floors. Mr. Gibson, who lives at Hector Street, Seatoun, suffered concussion and injuries to his head. He was taken by the Free Ambulance t< hospital, where he was reported last night to have made some improvement

Because it falls on a week day it has not received the prominence of the other festivals such as Christina-. Easter, and Whit Sunday.
