FORTY-HOUR WEEK
Stratford Borough Council Decision By Telegraph.—Press Association. New Plymouth, May IS. Tlie forty-hour week is to be introduced by tlie Stratford Borough Council, affecting botli its office and outside .staffs. After making tlie decision to-night the council appointed a sub-committee to investigate the means of bringing about the change. The Mayor, Mr. J. IV. McMillan, received support for his suggestion that a five-day week would be most suitable.
