A comparatively now type of sport is gaining much popularity among enthusiasts in Wanganui, who have found that the sandhills nt neighbouring beaches provide ideal slopes for skiing. According to one expert, the sand slopes are excellent upon which to carry out various manoeuvres, and just as many thrills can be obtained as on the proper fields. Several skiing parlies tested the slopes at Kaltoke, 'Wanganui, during the week-end and found them first-class.
