WOMAN’S DEATH FROM INJURIES

Knocked Down By Car Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, May 18. Shortly before 7.45 o'clock on Saturday evening, Mrs. Alice Wilson, a widow, aged 09 years, of 2 Oxford Street, Palmerston North, was knocked down by a motor-car driven by Mrs, K. Hughes, of Roy Street, Palmerston North. Mrs. Wilson received very serious injuries, to which she succumbed in the Palmerston North Hospital, being taken there by the Free Ambulance. The accident occurred at the intersection of Church and Princess Streets, where another less serious accident occurred a few weeks ago, when a motor-cycle and delivery van collided, in Saturday's accident Mrs. Hughes was driving along Church Street toward the Square, while Mrs. Wilson was crossing the road. Mrs. Wilson died about 20 minutes after her admission to hospital. Her injuries included extensive scalp wounds, a fractured pelvis and fractured ribs.
